Canine Companionship Isn't All it's Cracked up to be

So, in our transition to being home, we conjured up the possibility of companionship for my lonely days by means of fostering a pup. An awesome two woman organization in town (http://prairiedogcaninerescue.blogspot.com/) finds foster homes and permanent homes for dogs. They were in desperate need of temp homes for their rescued dogs and we were in desperate need for a wiggly furry friend; so it was a perfect fit. Or so we thought... Baxter was without a doubt a cutie pie who was very thankful to have a happy home with two people who showered him with love and affection. Unfortunately, he in turn, showered our walls and furniture when not under constant supervision. Just goes to show that what appears perfection should be taken from it's pedestal. Mr. Bax has since gone on to another foster home and surely, with his cutsie face and personality, will find a home with lots of space and perhaps another dog. We wish him luck!

Finally... America is moving in a direction of change!

We woke up this morning to snow on the ground outside our Lethbridge basement suite window. Just enough to make it all look sparkly and clean. Thank goodness for Mama's many quilts! Plus the thought that Obama REALLY was the new President Elect of my America... it was a thrilling and beautiful thought! His speech last night made me so proud to claim my nationality in a neighboring country. I recall my travels in Europe and Africa where I claimed Canadian citizenship just to avoid the inevitable harrassment and questioning. Today I am an American with pride and hope for the future! I've had a few friends joke that now really is a bad time to have left the country....haha... but what a trade I have made; to have Ed wake me with a kiss every morning, to have my life as a blank slate ahead of me, to feel like this love of mine is just beginning...yes, I know I'm right where I should be!
